The new Varraku swimming pool reinterprets the historic vaulted architecture of traditional bathhouses, transforming it into a modern and instantly recognizable design language. The building volume is formed by prefabricated CLT timber facade elements — these are designed as standardised modules so they can be reused. The entrance area creates an inner courtyard between the arcade and the building, which also serves as an outdoor terrace for the café. The new Olympic Square in front of the building is a multifunctional space for various events and other activities.
